Judy's Vintage Fair @ The Venue, Derby

Once again, Judy's didn't fail to disappoint. 2 Rooms chock-a-block with vintage stuff, clothes as far as the eye could see. Honestly, the volume of stock as overwhelming, so as usual I scurried off to the dark corners at the back of the room to get my barings. There were some traders who were new (to me, anyway) and some veterans like Headlock Vintage, who I bought my favourite handbag from at last years fair.

My only purchase of the day was this dress from Annie Greenabelle which I got for £5, bargain! The best thing is that it's fair-trade cotton so I felt like a saint wearing it today! I also rescued a puppy but that's a story for a different day.

They also had a really nice coat for £15, but it was orange, and orange makes me look ill. Other than that, there was so much to choose from I just couldn't make my mind up; I didn't really go with a shopping list like usual so I was floundering. Anyway, I got an Advintage Card! FOR FREE! So that's always a plus. It's nestled safely in my purse for my next Judy's jaunt.

Hey!

Sorry it's been a while! Became dishearted, but I'm now... reheartened? So you shall be having a post tomorrow about Judy's vintage fair in Derby! I'd like to go to the Nottingham one next weekend, but I'm at work on Saturdays. Boo.

Anyway, Mary Katrantzou's (I will never be able to spell that) collection at Topshop is all sold out, and I'm not surprised... Oh my. Often designers will tone down their designs for the high street but I'm glad she didn't. I love love love the bowl/lampshade thing that's going on with this dress, such a trademark. I'd wear it with coral heels and a tiny clutch that looks like a sun. If anyone comes across a sun-shaped clutch, let me know. I'm talking a round, yellow palm-sized affair with pointy bits, like how you used to draw them when you were 4. I digress...

I first heard about her in Company magazine last year and was wowed. I'm not usually even into designer stuff that much, be she had something different to offer. Also, this blouse. Just. Yes. I'd casualise it with leather leggings and a pink velvet blazer.

Perfection!

Valentines #2

This is it for Valentine's posts. Probably. So me and my boyf, we both like making things. So we made each other t-shirts! I'm a fan of cats and tie dye, obviously. He also got me a bunch of flowers and he made me a blackboard mug and filled it with chocolate. I've already eaten it.
Please ignore the fact I am not wearing trousers.
I bought him, as you can see, the new Enter Shikari CD and a moustache keyring that says "well, hello there". I also made the top he's wearing. Was going to do a tutorial but... I dunno.

These are his presents, all wrapped and nice. I made the card and the coconut fairy cakes (TIP: the icing is a mixture of icing sugar, a tiny bit of margarine and strawberry crusha).

The cakes spell out 'I love you'. I AM ADORABLE.

You can buy/ask about the boyf's t-shirts here at Dang! Clothing. It's a pretty new venture and I'll no doubt keep mentioning it. Prices are between £10 and £20, depending on the complexity. You heard it here first!

Valentines #1

Yes, this is the first V-day post. You're going to hate me around Christmas... Santa hats. On. Everything. Anywho (or anyhoo, never been sure) this is what I wore for Valentine's Day. Didn't get to see my boy until past 9pm (stupid work) so we didn't go out or anything, hence the casuality.
I actually quite like this picture of myself!

Check the lipstick yo. Think I'm going to wear it more often, although I usually forget I've got it on and smear it across my face.

I am wearing my Bitchy shorts, £35, the makers of whom I've blogged about, my new favourite cardigan which is Eastex but I got it for £2 because my college were selling stuff, and the shirt I bought - then promptly destroyed - on Sunday, which was £12. My ring is from Miss Selfridge a year or two ago. I'm crap at wearing rings, I always lose them.

Let me introduce you to my favourite coat. It's burgundy and it was in Topshop for £95... but my local Toppers has all the best sales and I got it for £20! Woot!

So yeah, not very Valentine's-y, but then again neither is playing Monopoly with your mum for 3 hours. I won.

After a trip into Nottingham yesterday...

I'm standing on a chair. yay

Bought this shirt from Braderie, which is a vintage shop in Nottingham. It's relatively new, I think... There was another vintage shop there before but it was way more expensive. Aside from clothes, they also sell ye olde electronics like sewing machines, record players and telephones from the 60's and 70's. The best bit? The changing rooms are huge wardrobes. I got home and immediately cut the arms and bottom bit off. I really liked the colours in it and it was only £12! I'm now offically skint. Countdown to pay day: 1 week, 4 days.
